  Gibbs and Associates

Since their founding in 1982, Gibbs and Associates has been a leader in providing cutting-edge CAD/CAM technology while maintaining its signature ease-of-use and productivity increasing qualities. William F. Gibbs started the company in an effort to bring NC programming services to the greater Los Angeles area at a time when many households had not even seen a desktop computer. Just two years later, they introduced Gibbs System and were leading the way in the development of CAD/CAM software.

GibbsCAM Takes the Stage

Gibbs and Associates has grown since then, but they have continued their tradition of user-friendliness, compatibility, and machine shop efficiency with their current family of products, GibbsCAM. GibbsCAM supports 2 through 5-axis milling, turning, mill/turning, multi-task simultaneous machining, and Wire-EDM. In addition, the GibbsCAM integrated offline CAM system and the Gibbs SFP embedded shop floor programming CAM system are fully compatible. High-level process models, instead of G-code, can be bi-directionally exchanged between the shop floor and manufacturing engineering. This allows the capture of shop-proven processes for standardization and re-use. And as if this weren't enough, GibbsCAM also offers fully integrated manufacturing modeling capabilities that include entry-level 2D, 2.5D, 3D wireframe, surface modeling, solid-modeling creation, and the ability to access many CAD data formats.

With the help of national and international resellers, the GibbsCAM products have found their home in machine shops across the world and in industries that range from building Mars rovers to planes, trains, automobiles, tanks, and earthmovers, to sail boat part manufacturing and even to toys! GibbsCAM has also entered into partnerships with CAD software manufacturers such as Autodesk, CADKEY, SolidWorks and UGS - producers of Solid Edge.
